mmmmmm books…
It’s the monsoons - perfecto for my renewed challenge to read books and reignite this long lost hobby of mine. Once upon a time, I was an avid bottle-eyed bookworm utterly obsessed with books; libraries where my seventh heaven, my cloud nine, and under the blanket was my cozy wormhole, night was day and day was night, I never cared. Good times!
But unfortunately, as time passed by and life ebbed on, so did my dwindling interest in books… sigh. Ever since, I have been wistfully wishing to read books again… but Mr Procrastination always won fair and square!
So I asked myself - if not now… when? So recently, on a spur, I marched myself to a lending library nearby and gifted myself a membership and now here I am… a happy bottle-eyed bookworm again – and loving every minute of it!
Stepping into the library was a spell binding moment – the familiar piles and stacks of books, the numerous rickety shelves, the rousing blurbs on the back of the books, the crisp scent of brown tinted pages – the very ambience of it all – simply pepped a soft nostalgic adrenalin rush. Memories.
Now, curled up with a book and snug in my cozy wormhole after ages – I am thrilled beyond words that I gave my reading challenge a shot. Books are here to stay. Solid.
Leave no regrets behind. Better now than never.
“A writer only begins a book. A reader finishes it.” - Samuel Johnson

I've had a life long love affair with books. My love of reading developed as a child. It was my way of escaping my reality and going into another world. Thanks for stopping by my blog!
Ah. For the love of books!
After a long gap I read a novel last week-Chetan's 'Revolution 2020' ...Good masala stuff!
Glad to find fellow book-lovers!!! :)

You remind me of my own childhood trysts with the library & books...Folk tales from Japan, Rostam & Sohrab, Asterix & Tintin..Oh My!!! What a time it was???!!
(Sigh)
Now they are all gone. The city, the library with the madam always reminding me of the closing time, the aroma of the books....
Thanks for this article. I had a nice litl jog down the memory lane.
Your writing is so nice & refreshing, I might as well fall in love with you. It has really warmed the cockles of my heart!!
@Perseus - TinTin, Asterix and the whole Enid Bkyton series and series of books ruled my childhood!!! :) Thank you so much for dropping by and for your kind encouraging words... :)
Short and to the point... liked it... I had written some thing in similar lines in my blog, but it was lengthy!
Keep writing! And thanks for the suggestions for my blog. Drop in to see the changes...
Thank you Nisha... I love keeping my writing short and simple. :) Keep blogging!
Dear Dee :)
I have so enjoyed catching up with your posts tonight, or should I say today, since it's after midnight here? :P
I prefer the shorter posts like yours but many of my readers write long stories. I enjoy and receive inspiration from them but lately it's draining me, just trying to keep up with everyone. I'm not a person who just drops in and says, "Beautiful! Keep writing!" :D This results in me spending a long time on one post, reading, thinking and composing, hopefully, the best of my thoughts to present to the author :)
Hope you've enjoyed reading my comments :) If I miss your next post, PLEASE come and holler at me :D
P.S. ~ Loved the 'bottle eyed bookworm'!! :D
@Princess Fiona - I have soooooo enjoyed reading all your comments that you have so sweetly and painstakingly left for me. Very kind of you. Thank you for your time and effort. Means a lot. You inspire. Thank you so much!!! :)
